Please leave the best way to reach you because if tickets become available, we will be using that number to reach you quickly. If we cannot reach you in a timely fashion, remember that we will need to move to the next person on the waiting list.
-
If I buy a dinner ticket, is the interview also included?
Yes, a dinner ticket includes the 5:00 p.m. Brown-Forman Wine & Cheese in the lobby of The Kentucky Center, the 6:00 p.m. interview in the Bomhard Theatre, the 7:00 p.m. Q & A afterwards, as well as the sit-down dinner in honor of our Forum guests. Dinner begins with a cocktail reception and guests will be advised of the venue.
-
Is there assigned seating at dinner?
No, although seating is assigned for the interview in the Bomhard Theatre, seating at dinner is open. We hope you'll meet new friends and enjoy the conversation.
-
Can I upgrade my interview only ticket, if I decide later that I'd like to attend the dinner?
Yes, if dinner is not sold out, you may upgrade your interview only ticket to the dinner ticket level for $83 additional per ticket, up to 48 hours before the event. Please contact us by phone at (502) 589-2884 to check availability.
-
Will the author and interviewer appear at the dinner?
Yes, the dinner is held in honor of our author and interviewer guests and you'll have an opportunity to meet them. Although our guests don't make formal speeches at the dinner, each author typically shares personal thoughts and observations.
-
What is the dress code for the evening's events?
While we don't enforce a strict dress code, most of our guests choose to wear business attire.
-
What if I'm unable to use my tickets?
While neither The Kentucky Center nor The Kentucky Author Forum can issue refunds, you may contact us at (502) 589-2884 if you wish to donate your tickets.
-
Will I be able to meet the author?
Book-signings are determined by the time constraints and availability of each individual author. The Q & A period following the live interview in the Bomhard Theater affords an opportunity for ticket holders to interact with our featured author and interviewer. If you choose to attend the dinner, you'll also have a chance to mingle with our distinguished guests.
-
I can't come to the Forum event, but I'd still like to get an autographed book. What should I do?
You may contact our exclusive bookselling partner, Carmichael's Bookstore at (502) 896-6950.
-
Can I purchase a season's subscription?
In the interest of being as accessible as possible to as many people as possible in the community, we do not offer annual subscriptions. Tickets may be purchased on an event-by-event basis, as they are announced. Patrons of our email or postal mailing lists are given advance notice, before the general public, about upcoming events. Due to frequent sell-outs, we urge people to act quickly if they believe they are interested in a particular author. While every seat in the Bomhard Theater is a good one, the intimate size of the theater means there are not a large number of seats.
-
Why not move the Kentucky Author Forum events to a larger venue, such as The Whitney Theater?
Our events are recorded by KET for future broadcasting, so we must use a camera-friendly space. The Bomhard is technically prepared for camera work. Using this smaller theatre adds to the intimacy of the event.
