Jane Perlez was a long-time foreign correspondent for The New York Times, serving as Beijing Bureau Chief in China until 2019, where she wrote about China’s role in the world, and the competition between the United States and China, particularly in Asia. Perlez was part of the team that won the Pulitzer Prize for international reporting in 2009 for coverage of the war against the Taliban and Al-Qaeda in Pakistan and Afghanistan. She is currently a fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School, and producer and host of the podcast Face-Off: US vs China.
